Print only stations

CTS replaced the print only stations this morning with newer iMacs and increased the RAM. They now have more RAM than the general student use computers in the Library to help with the constant logging in and out. The has greatly improved the log in time for the Windows OS. (Mac is still faster)

Volume control on the Windows 7 OS

Users that log in to Windows cannot initially change the volume level by clicking the speaker icon in the lower right corner of the task bar. Here is the answer/not easy fix from CTS but for now it is what we have to work with: click Start, type “sound” (without quotes), and click the Sound app that appears under the heading “Control Panel” Double-click the default sound device (the one with the green checkmark bubble) Click the Levels tab you can change the volume. Not the best way to do it, but its our only choice at this point until we get our newest Windows image rolled out.”

Lab Map

The lab map is up and running. You can view it by going to Under “Published lab maps” click on the “Map” selection for the Floor you wish to view. Machines that are in use will either be Red or Grey. Red signifies in use and logged into the Mac OS, Grey signifies either turned off or In Use and logged into the Windows OS (We have not been able to fix that color glitch yet). Machines that are available will be Green.

Relocated Basement computers
