Printing PDF documents

when a patron is attempting to print a PDF, either from one of our Journal resources or from Moodle always instruct them to open it in Adobe Reader ( or Adobe Acrobat but Reader is preferred). If the PDF has opened through the web browser, which it does if you just click the link for it, they should click the icon in the upper right corner that looks like a dog eared sheet of paper with a down pointing arrow in the center, then select “Open” in Adobe Reader. Once they open it in Reader and go to “File” and “Print” and the Print window opens have them click the “Advanced” tab to the right of the printer name that is showing. A new window opens and have them check the box next to “Print as image” then click “OK'” and Print. This cuts the spooling and printing time by at least half.
