The color printer is back and up and running
If students needs to print in color they can go to Kellas 100 or to the Sheard Literacy Center: Sheard Lit Center: Mon – Thurs: 9:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. Friday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Saturday: 11 a.m. – 4 .m. Sunday: 3 – 8 p.m.
The color printer has had some issues of late concerning prints with multiple streaks. After a cleaning by myself and then CTS the problem persists. CTS has picked up the printer for maintenance purposes and will return it shortly. No ETA available
People can now log into the Mac OS
The Mac OS will not allow log ins. I have reported it to CTS and the network guys are working on it. I placed a sign in the lobby as well telling people to use the Windows side. If the computer is already on the Mac side, hold down the power button on the CPU behind the monitor until it shuts down then press it again to boot it up. Also be aware many people claim they can’t get to the log in but it is because they are pressing ctrl ALT and the Del button in the upper right of the keyboard. It must be the del button that is a square shaped key at the top of the keypad on the right of the keyboard
The network cable on computer 15096 has a broken clip so the cable slips out of the jack in the mac mini cpu which then prevents people from being able to log on. This computer is one of the stations that is on the new cubicle computer furniture and the cables run thru the panels into the floor so I do not have access to remove and replace it. I have placed an out of order sign on it and submitted a work ticket with CTS asking them to make it a priority due to the approach of finals week.
